HAPPY PRIDE MONTH

HAPPY PRIDE MONTH FELLOW LGBTQ MEMBERS

It’s that time of year again where we celebrate being part of such a Fun, Colorful and Utterly Fabulous Community. That being said we always celebrate it whatever time of year it is

I just wanted to write a small message wishing everyone a Happy Pride Month and to always be yourself and proud of who you are. Family Members, love, support and be Proud if you know someone who is LGBTQ.

Thanks For Reading and HAPPY PRIDE.

PRIDE WEEK

Well, Pride Month is almost up as we prepare to enter July. This Pride Month was to be my first as an out and proud Gay Man but due to current circumstances all Pride Parties and Parades have been cancelled (like everything else this year). Whilst I am disappointed there will be no parties to attend, no parades to cheer, sing with or gentlemen callers (if gentlemen is the right word that is) I know we all have to stay safe but once more gatherings are allowed I plan to have a big Pride Party and invite all my fellow LGBTQ Friends who are all awesome.

I have been doing a few things to mark this wonderful month such as proudly wearing my Disney Pride T-Shirt as you can see in the photo below (and above). I still have one or two other things planned such as a video on my Coming Out Story as I want to share it everyone and fellow LGBTQ people. I have also been connecting with fellow LGBTQ people on Social Media and I can’t wait for the bars to open and meet more. I guess for me one of the hardest parts of lockdown is not being able to go out and meet new people but normality is slowly and safely on the horizon so cheers to that.

Overall I am proud of who I am and proud to be gay and be myself. The love and support from family and friends have been wonderful so thank you for accepting me. I could have done it without all their love and support as family is everything so a big thank you to all of you. I will wrap this up by saying be proud of who you are and always be yourself.

HAPPY PRIDE MONTH AND WEEK

PRIDE MONTH

This first week of June marks the beginning of Pride Month and my first as an out loud and proud LGBTQ person/Gay Man. I had been very much looking forward to pride Month and all the parades and parties but COVID19 of course has called a halt to all public celebrations. Disapointing as that is it does not mean we all cannot celebrate. Using all the online resources at our disposal like Social Media and Video Platforms we can share our pride and connect with other LGBTQ People. Back in January after coming out I wrote a post on my Coming Out story and I plan to do a video about this Month

I can of course share this time with my family – Socially Distanced of course as they have been so loving and supportive. Overall it is great to welcome in this month of pride and further embrace my life as a gay man. Equality is very important nowadays and with recent events such as all the protests over the tragedy of George Floyd we all need to remember that EVERYONE MATTERS, EVERYONE IS EQUAL, PEOPLE CAN LOVE WHO THEY WANT TO LOVE. I of course miss my fellow gay friends at this time and hope they are keeping safe and well and when all this is over we can meet up and have the best of craic.

Given that I have already posted my Coming Out Story, That does not mean I cannot post other LGBTQ Content on here. I today found an Pride Month Calender in which on each day you embrace/celebrate something about LGBTQ culture like music/movies people. Have a look yourself if there is something about LGBTQ culture you wish to celebrate.

I also have a few ideas about other content I could create. But until then

HAPPY PRIDE MONTH EVERYONE

THE LGBTQ+ TAG

Wanted to do another Tag Challenge and another LGBT Post so I stumbled on this tag and decided to have a go at it. It is mainly a YouTube Tag but I will definitely do a Video Post with this tag. Anway let’s do this

1: WHAT DO YOU IDENTIFY AS?

Gay.

2: HOW DID YOU DISCOVER YOUR SEXUALITY?

Well I suppose it was when I entered College I began to realise I was gay and shared my first gay kiss with a Portugese Student in my Class. After that I began to realise I was gay and I came out at Christmas just past.

3: WHO WAS THE FIRST PERSON YOU TOLD?

My Younger Brother and he was so awesome about it and proud of me for admitting it.

4: DESCRIBE WHAT IT WAS LIKE COMING OUT?

Scary but empowering at the same time.

5: IF YOUR OUT, HOW DID YOUR PARENTS/GAURDIANS/FRIENDS REACT WHEN YOU TOLD THEM?

Well I started with my brothers, aunts, uncles and cousins and they were all so supportive and awesome about it. Some had even suspected it beforehand. My Cousins even got me a Coming Out cake. Next came my parents which in all honesty was the more scary part. My Dad was a little funny about it at first and Mum was quite surprised but these reactions were what I hoped for and now I can move forward as a Gay Man.

6: WHAT IS THE ONE QUESTION YOU HATE PEOPLE ASKING ABOUT YOUR SEXUALITY?

I have another Gay Friend who a few people think I am dating but I’m not, we are jst good friends. It annoys me when people think just because you have a gay friend you must be going out with him.

7: WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE LGBTQ COMMUNITY?

My Village is a GAA Football community and I was never interested in football so I didnt feel I fit in with that. I was more into acting and musicals and I feel that I am part of a community that like the same things I do such as ABBA, Lady Ga Ga and musicals. It’s also rewarding to become part of a community that are fighting to change the world and fight for equality in a sometimes narrow minded world.

8: HAVE YOU EVEN BEEN TO A GAY BAR?

I popped into one once briefly but I cant wait to going to them more frequently and meeting more gay men and LGBTQ People.

9: WHO ID YOUR FAVOURITE LGBTQ ICON/ADVOCATE/CELEBRITY?

Only one I can think of currently if Ian McKellen, I love his movies and he is such an amazingly talented person. Now that I am out i must do some research into other LGBTQ Role Models.

10: HAVE YOU BEEN IN A RELATIONSHIP, AND HOW DID YOU MEET?

Single and free at the moment.

11: HAVE YOU EVER FACED ANY DISCRIMINATION?

Not yet but I live in Ireland so I’m sure I will have to endure some at some point. Not that it will bother me though.

12: YOUR FAVOURITE LGBTQ MOVIE/TV SHOW?

The gayest show I know of and love at the moment is Golden Girls. It never fails to make me laugh. I aim to start checking out more LGBTQ Movies on Netflix. I dont know if it counts but I also watch Riverdale, purely for Cheryl and Toni as they are such a great could and Cheryl is such a Queen.

13: THE MOST RIDICULOUS THING YOU’VE HEARD ABOUT THE LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY?

Proabaly anything homophobic you see or hear on the news or Social Media. It’s 2020 so people need to move with the times.

14: THE LGBTQ+ SLUR YOU HATE THE MOST?

Faggot. I think it’s a vile word and I HATE how people espically teenages use it as a slang word which it is not.

15: END THIS ON SOMETHING YOU’D LIKE TO TELL THE WORLD ABOUT THE LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY?

Dont listen to any of the bigotry or homophobic rubbish spread by policticans or other narrow minded people. We are all the same and love is love.

Thanks for Reading.

Bill Out.
